Who I Am
Hi, I’m Declan — a dedicated dog trainer who believes every dog deserves patient, positive, and understanding guidance.
I have spent many years working with dogs in a variety of roles, from dog sitting and daycare centres to running training classes. Along the way, I’ve studied dog psychology and trained across multiple disciplines.
Working with dogs isn’t just my career — it’s my passion. Every session is personalised, because no two dogs (or owners) are the same.
My goal is not just to train dogs, but to empower owners with the skills and confidence to continue that training at home.

I started The Polite Pup because I saw how many wonderful dogs were being misunderstood, mislabelled, or given up on simply because they weren’t being taught in the right way.
My mission is to help every dog live the happiest, healthiest life possible — and to help owners feel confident, supported, and proud of their relationship with their dog.
Through clear communication, positive reinforcement, and consistent guidance, I work with owners to create calm, well-mannered, and confident dogs.
